Remember Andy Furman?
He got fired from WLW after feuding with ex-Bengal T.J. Houshmandzadeh. Housmasdhglascjlaskdu no-showed Furman. Furman got pissed and wouldn’t let it go. Hoausvnavlakue called Furman a “white boy.” Furman called Hosucalzkujval;w a racist.
That’s the kind of ranting and raving you need at 7am.
Furman is now schlocking for super-conservative and wildly unpopular talk station WQRT “Real Talk” 1160 am, alongside luminaries like Laura Ingraham and Dennis Miller. Every commercial break talks about “starting a revolution.” Yeah. It’s that kind of station.
Which makes Furman and sports talk an odd fit for 1160. And moving his show to 7-9am seems even…odder. And to make things even more…odderer, he’s going to do his new morning show live from the Graeter’s at Fountain Square. The fun starts January 3rd.
Pros:
- Don’t have to wait until late afternoon to talk about yesterday’s game.
- He’s better than Mo Egger and Lance McAlister. A lot better.
- A live show at Fountain Square could put some more energy into downtown.
Cons:
- That’s a little early in the morning for blustering and yelling.
- Frequency strength requires wearing a tin-foil hat to tune in.
- Did I mention no one gives a shit about this station?
